The research record
GlobalEd 2 is based on over two decades of research and refinement of the simulations and scenarios students played. Studies repeatedly showed substantial benefits for student achievement — including socio-scientific literacy, written argumentation and general writing skills, inquiry skills, and social studies and science content knowledge — plus increases in self-efficacy and interest in social studies and STEM careers. Multiple studies also showed larger achievement gains for students in urban and under-resourced schools, and reductions in known achievement gaps across gender, racial, ethnic, and urban/suburban groups.
